In-Office Whitening
Our in-office whitening treatment uses professional-strength bleaching gel to achieve dramatically brighter results in a single appointment. The treatment is performed in our office under the supervision of our clinical team, ensuring both safety and effectiveness. Most patients see their teeth lighten by several shades in approximately one hour.
In-office whitening is ideal for patients who want the fastest possible results — before a special occasion, a reunion, or simply because they are ready for a change.
Take-Home Whitening
For patients who prefer to whiten at their own pace, we offer custom take-home whitening kits. These include professional-strength whitening gel and custom-fitted trays made from impressions of your own teeth — unlike over-the-counter trays, ours are designed specifically for you, ensuring even coverage and consistent contact with every tooth surface.
Take-home whitening typically takes 10–14 days of daily use and can achieve results comparable to in-office treatment. Many patients combine both for maximum impact.
- Dental restorations such as crowns, veneers, and bonding will not whiten along with your natural teeth
- Staining from coffee, tea, wine, or tobacco responds best to professional whitening
- Intrinsic staining — staining from within the tooth — may not respond to whitening and alternative options will be discussed

- We will discuss realistic expectations at your consultation so you know exactly what to expect
Is whitening right for you?
Whitening works best on natural tooth enamel. A few things to know before you begin:
Dental restorations — including crowns, veneers, porcelain bridges, and composite bonding — will not change color with whitening treatment. If you have visible restorations on your front teeth, whitening may create a mismatch between your natural teeth and your existing dental work. We will assess this during your consultation and give you an honest picture of what to expect.
Whitening is most effective on staining caused by food, drink, and tobacco. Coffee, tea, red wine, and smoking are among the most common culprits — and professional whitening addresses these very effectively. Staining caused by certain antibiotics (such as tetracycline), excessive fluoride exposure during tooth development, or internal discoloration within the tooth structure may not respond as predictably to whitening. In those cases, veneers or bonding may be a better path to the result you are looking for.
Sensitivity during and after whitening is common and temporary. Patients with naturally sensitive teeth can still whiten in most cases — we simply use a modified protocol, a lower-concentration gel, or a shorter treatment time to keep you comfortable throughout. Let us know about any existing sensitivity when you call.
Results are not permanent. Most patients find their whitening results last anywhere from one to three years depending on diet, habits, and oral hygiene. Touch-up trays make it easy to maintain your result at home without returning to the office.
We will walk through all of this with you before treatment begins — no surprises, no pressure, just a clear conversation about what whitening can realistically do for your smile.
