YOUR FIRST VISIT

We make first visits feel easy.

Your first appointment at Ireland Restorative Dentistry typically includes a comprehensive exam, digital X-rays, and a full conversation about your goals and concerns. We listen before we look.

Plan for approximately 60–90 minutes for a new patient visit. Bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card if applicable, and a list of any current medications. If you have recent dental X-rays from a previous provider, we are happy to request those in advance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions we hear all the time.

If you do not see your question here, call us at 678-845-0366 or send a message through our contact form.

Do you accept my insurance?

We are a fee-for-service practice and do not participate in insurance networks. We will submit claims to your insurance provider as a courtesy. Many patients find their insurance reimburses a meaningful portion of their care even at an out-of-network practice.

How long will my first appointment take?

Plan for approximately 60–90 minutes for a comprehensive new patient exam. This includes X-rays, a full clinical examination, and time to discuss your goals and any concerns you have. We do not rush new patient appointments.

Do you see children?

Yes — we provide child-specific dental care and our team is experienced with young patients. Dr. Hewgley is particularly warm with children and works at their pace to make every visit comfortable and positive.

What if I have dental anxiety?

You are in good company — and you are in the right place. Our team is known for a calm, unhurried approach that puts anxious patients at ease. Let us know when you call or on your intake form and we will make sure your appointment is as comfortable as possible.

Do you offer financing?

Yes — we accept CareCredit, which offers a range of financing plans for dental treatment. You can apply online at carecredit.com before your appointment.

What is the difference between a prosthodontist and a general dentist?

A prosthodontist is a dental specialist who completes an additional 3-year post-doctoral residency focused on the restoration and replacement of teeth. General dentists handle a broad range of everyday dental needs. Prosthodontists like Dr. Ireland specialize in complex restorative cases, implants, and full mouth reconstruction.
