HOW IT WORKS

What to expect at your visit.

1

Health History Review

We review your dental and medical history, any changes since your last visit, and any concerns you want to discuss. We listen before we look.

2

Clinical Examination

A thorough exam of your teeth, gums, bite, jaw, and soft tissue — including a check for any signs of oral cancer or abnormal tissue.

3

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are taken as needed to give us a complete diagnostic picture of what is happening between and beneath the teeth.

4

Professional Cleaning

Your hygienist removes plaque and tartar buildup, polishes the teeth, and sends you home with a clear picture of your oral health.

What to expect at your exam

A comprehensive dental exam includes a thorough review of your dental and medical health history, a full-mouth clinical examination of the teeth, gums, jaw, and bite, digital X-rays as needed, a check for any signs of oral cancer or abnormal tissue, and a conversation about your goals, concerns, and any changes you have noticed since your last visit. Our goal at every exam is not just to look — but to listen.

Professional cleaning

Even the most diligent brushers and flossers accumulate tartar deposits in areas that a toothbrush cannot reach — especially along the gumline and between the teeth. A professional cleaning removes this buildup before it leads to gum disease or cavities.

How often should I come in?

Most patients benefit from a cleaning and exam every six months. Patients with a history of gum disease, high cavity risk, or active dental issues may be recommended for more frequent visits. We will discuss the right schedule for you based on your individual needs — not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
